Guest: Manjit Bassi
Manjit was born in India, raised in Vancouver, and lives in Ottawa. Manjit is a vibrant woman, a wife, mother and grandmother who works with individuals, teams, organizations, or communities to help them build and maintain good relationships, trust, a sense of safety, livelihood and their contributing voice in their surrounding environments.
Manjit brings vitality and humanity to all her projects. She aims to create opportunities for people to feel connected in our complex world. Manjit has a vast experiential background including business, the government sector, and volunteer work. She continues to pursue opportunities to grow personally and professionally and is an excellent role model for all women.
Manjit holds several certifications among them leadership coaching, non-violent communication, and organizational systems facilitator. From 1987-2008, as owner of 4 locations of the Body Shop, Manjit was already demonstrating that business can be a powerful vehicle for social good. She continues to have a deep commitment to community as chair, board member and/or advisor to the Telus Ottawa Community Board, the Harry P. Ward Foundation, the Center for Social Enterprise Development, and Synapcity.
Manjit is known to have a “quirky” brain, secretly ruled by a “generous heart”. We are confident that her energy will radiate throughout the room today with lasting effects for more reflection on our part. We are privileged to have her speak to us today.
